Sometimes I find tattoos detract from a photo concept, and sometimes they don't; they're a part of the model that makes them them. And sometimes the concept is all about the tattoos.
When I first met Candy Bell, her tattoos really caught my eye and inspired me to do something simple that would nonetheless really emphasize both her ink and her looks. High-contrast black and white was an obvious choice, but I also wanted lots of film grain for texture. So I shot these pics on film.
Photographed in my studio on Fujicolor 1600 negative film with studio lighting. The film was then scanned in black and white.
